planet rhythm teams up with rotterdam techno operation th tar hallow and releases a collection of tracks by artists that have frequently appeared on the cult label. deep down westcoast electronics by respected artists such as klankman, charlton, labelboss thanos hana and rhyw. klankman opens up this 4-track va with the ominous �can not use that command on overlapping selections�. berlin based rotterdammer charlton follows up with the heavy arps and outgoing drums of �profiler�. thanos hana opens up the b side with the tough techno cut �the injury pattern� and berlin based rhyw- closes down the varied slice of vinyl with the moving �mkfbtb�.

i try to perform as honestly as possible � the soundbite borrowed from late dancer dudley williams for this record s second track could have been uttered by the mole himself. it s this candor that has allowed us to bear witness to a very marked and very audible transition from his days as a producer in montreal to becoming a part of the berlin scene. and what we have here is one result of that very explicit sonic metamorphosis. de la planet is our dyslexic subject s third studio album, one that stays true to his ethos of weird above all in the best possible sense. and yet it feels like something distinctly new. tapping his enormous reservoir of vinyl and sampling the odd film have acted as complement to the jaw-dropping arsenal of synthesizers at de la plante s disposal�a battery of machines he s been quietly improving his skills on during the past few years. or not so quietly, perhaps. the man himself would probably say -i m coming out of the woodshed-, and go off on a tangent about sonny rollins and his saint of a wife. but that s a story for another sheet.

alpenglühen, the madrid-based monthly nights, focused in ambient techno, emerges in september,2014, inspired by the film -dogville- and the optical phenomenon happening when the last ray of sunshine slowly disappears over the mountains, now, with the moto -exploring the thin line between darkness and light-, alpenglühen, the label, is born, influenced by those sessions. the first installment is produced by the duo, pajaro dune. a young project formed by two well known talented producers from valencia, who gives us a promising kick off release. 4 highly crafted tracks which are somewhere between techno (in its deepest and atmospheric stage), contemporary music and impressionistic electronics. partially inspired on the research by konstantin batygin and michael e. brown on the evidence for a planet the size of uranus between 200 and 1000 au far away from the sun. the titles of the tracks are all but one real objects of our solar system whose movement is theoretically affected by the presence of a distant giant planet yet to be discovered.

yan cook has positioned himself as one of the key figures in modern day techno and without hesitation one of the faces of the planet rhythm imprint. this time around he returns to his warm home with the eight-track counting �drifted island�. even though it�s listed as an ep it�s almost a full length album in its own right. yan cook takes the listener on a voyage that covers all sides of his musical spectrum. sturdy technoid rhythms and otherworldly structures make drifted island a true work of versatility.

for its 3rd release, the other planet presents worth way. embark with him on this journey to discovery. a universe full of poetry accompanied by rhythms with lo-fi accents.
this ep was created throughout adventures into the australian wilderness. whilst hiking and driving around mountains, forests and beaches, inspirations were drawn from emotions and connections that were felt in these settings. the tracks reflect the physical and psychological catharsis that can be induced in a landscape that has seen minimal human activity.

damon yates, aka martianman, set up 4th planet recordings to release music by people which includes some of his more favorite artists. artist that simply need to have more music released. it involves the same basic idea that he had when starting up the martianman volumes which is to release original, high quality jungle with a completely underground feel. not only the bass and drums are important for the vibes but the whole feel of the music is in play. it can be completely futuristic sounding or full of old school vibes though out. however it�s served up just know that it is underground.

occassional duo pjotr g & dubiosity have become household prruk names within short time. a couple of months after the well received �a man is no island� ep a new submission to the ever extended prrukblk catalog was provided in the form of �savant�, a 4 track spanning work of staggering techno with the significant filmic elements that pjotr g and dubiosity cleverly incorporate into their hazy works of techno. whereas the a side is based on these elements, on the b side darker elements are introduced. �savant� is a ferm but uplifting techno record.

�god loves detroit� is terrence parker�s new album due for release june 30th on planet e communications (detroit). this new album features tp collaborations with coco street, and additional projects with merachka (who co-produced, co-wrote, and sings on the first single entitled �don�t waste another minute� which also features a remix by london�s as i am) released in february 2016.

arvid whetman has plenty going for him at the moment. as sexazoid he s dropping all kinds of off-kilter machine beats on excellent labels like born free, while as your planet is next he builds on appearances on junk yard connections, waving hands, opal tapes, studio barnhus and klasse to deliver this chirpy four-tracker to acid waxa. from the twee vocals to the playful synths and straight up drums, this is club music crafted for an immediate hit. whetman makes this approach work magnificently though, liberally applying his musical personality to lo-fi deep house and roughshod acid, with heartbreaker being a firm favourite thanks to its fulsome 303 bassline and hooky vocal mantras.

ekoplekz returns with his fourth album for planet mu, in the shape of 10-tracker �bioprodukt�. the unique lo-fi, woozy sound of bristol�s nick edwards stays intact while he veers towards the nineties for inspiration: the bleep and bass sound of the north of england is one touchpoint and the acid gurgles of the 303 are another.

barbir from les points delivers a truly inspiring ep for the 14th release on concealed. the musical range is wide, spanning from detroit flavoured house music and techno, to more futuristic breakbeat stuff with hints of electro. tied together with swirling acid melodies and deep pads, mixed with uplifting beat and bass jams, all laid down over 6 quite different cuts. as a special treat, we find two collaboration with louh on the b side as well... yay!

having made himself an indispensable member of the uk soul/funk scene, playing live performances of �zoology� to much acclaim, as well as setting up a regular groove night at london�s 606 jazz club, carl has recently finished work on his second album - pixel planet, which tells the story of an alien spacecraft, exploring our solar system, 30.000 years into the future - looking for the last bastion of human activity long after we have departed. this dystopian tale is told using a huge array of cosmic electronics, many of which were soldered together by carl himself, including his own diy synthesiser - the recyclotron 64 - constructed out of commodore 64 chips and built in an mdf box, and providing some of the monster bass lines on this album. as well as calling in the digisoul gang, some new friends appear on this album, including powerhouse drummers pete ray biggin, and �jungle� jimmy norden.

trusme gets the remix treatment from answer code request, ben sims & pangaea. this is the first of two eps featuring remixes of tracks from the trusme planet 4 album. answer code request takes our future into new territory with two outstanding mixes. remix 1 moves things to a much more sinister & foreboding place. tightening the feel & tension of the original with all the hallmarks of classic berlin techno. remix 2 winds up & coils the track into a searing workout of early 90s hardcore breakbeat. ben sims takes control of ring round heart, pushing the tempo & creating a whole new urgency in the track. this is proper no nonsense heads down business & tight as you like. the mix builds excellently well & manages to produce an epic amount of feel and emotion, dropping in & out of the groove with a sneaky breakbeat & vocal dubs. pangaea tackles one of the albums more esoteric tracks in the unexplained. he manages to work a wonderfully intriguing steppers beat which drops from nowhere after the highly beguiling metronomic extended opening. the tracks are getting plenty of play & plaudits from likes of ben ufo, dj deep, bicep & anthony parasole.

lessismore record label, founded in 2003 by the dutch dj and producer alexis tyrel together with mbc, has been home for mostly his own releases under all his monikers and various artist compilations. �return to planet alpha� continues in this tradition, being a second long-player of alexis tyrel after his debut �newtradition� from 2011.
�return to planet alpha� is a collection of elegant techno tracks which instead of following the now so popular dark and destructive path focuses on daily moods and airy atmosphere, which is closer to open air and lounge than to sweaty pits of contemporary rave. but that doesn�t mean that the twelve tracks are just indistinctive background music. for one thing, tyrel is a master of slick and tight beat foundations of kick drums and bass, often smoothed out with cool synth pads, onto which he layers all kinds of rhythmical chains, subtle melodic ideas and sounds ranging from vintage synths and industrial bits to organic textures and even field recordings.
